Curriculum

Be Ready, Respectful and Safe.

At John Randall Primary School and Nursery we have written our curriculum very carefully to reflect the needs and aspirations of all our children. Carefully planned activities, that we as a school organise, are designed to promote key skills and knowledge, independence, learning, personal growth and development. It includes, not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum, but also a range of extra-curricular activities that the school organise in order to inspire and enrich the experiences of our children.

It has been tailored to showcase local and national historical events and places of geographical interest and beauty to our children and our wider community. It promotes an understanding of our doorstop heritage; learning about other cultures through food; where it comes from and how cultures celebrate food. This gives our children the opportunity to meet and question professionals from all walks of life, giving our children the opportunity to encounter careers and life experiences that will inspire them for the future.

Learning opportunities have been created in every area of our school; our vision is that learning can be accessed anywhere!  Improving mental wellbeing underpins much of what we do at John Randall Primary School, children have daily opportunities to explore through outdoor learning, Forest School and by taking advantage of the wider community with trips to our local woodlands.
